Domaines Henri Maire lifts the veil on this emblematic wine

In the heart of Arbois, the gourmet capital of Jura wines, the Domaines Henri Maire boutique reopened in January 2016 after a complete facelift. Visitors can discover the estate’s wines in this gilded showcase evoking the brand’s visual universe and the gold of the Jura: the famous vin jaune.

This rare and unique wine, that has made the reputation of the Jura region, has been showcased in the store in a dedicated space since June. A glass-bottomed barrel offers a window onto the mysterious ageing process, where the wine is aged for six years under a veil of yeast. Two glass containers show the different nuances of the soil from Château Chalon and Henri Maire’s flagship estate, the Domaine du Sorbief.

Two tastings*, by reservation and for small groups only, provide an introduction to the terroirs of vin jaune over several millennia, and to three different Comté cheeses – the region’s other treasure!

The boutique is open from 9am to 7pm daily, year-round, apart from Christmas Day and New Year’s day.
