| Jean-Claude Boisset. Seeking rare gems... |
| March 2009 |
And this year, two new whites have fleshed out the range: a Fixin and a Chorey-lès-Beaune Clos Margot – two appellations where Chardonnay represents an infinitesimal part of production. These wines are like most of the Maison’s white wines; partially aged in 450-liter oak barrels. This is the ideal container, according to the viniculturist, to ensure the wine’s aromatic notes are not masked by the wood.
Fixin Blanc 2008
-30 year-old vines
-East-facing on a argilo-calcareous soil
-The first dégustations have revealed a rich wine, close to Mersault in texture
-A limited edition of 1500 bottles
Chorey-lès-Beaune Clos Margot
-Vines located on a clay plain
-The first dégustations have revealed a mineraly wine to be enjoyed young
-A limited edition of 1500 bottles
To keep all the freshness of these rare wines intact, the bottles are sealed with a screw-cap.
